Department of Surgery

He Graduated from King Edward Medical College, Lahore in December 1971 and got his training in Ireland and did F.R.C.S from Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin Ireland. In 1985Joined Fatima Jinnah Medical College as  Assistant Professor of Surgery and was promoted as Professor of Surgery after completing requirement of the job. During this stay of over 22 years or so was involved in under graduate teaching at Fatima Jinnah Medical College and Sir Ganga Ram hospital, Lahore and was responsible for the  training of post graduate surgical trainees preparing for M.S General Surgery and F.C.P.S. Examinations.

He  have been examiner for Under and Postgraduate examinations for the Punjab University, Army medical College and College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. Participated in national and international Surgical conferences and  read several papers.  He has special  interest in Surgical Oncology and breast cancer, thyroid and colonic surgery and is working hard to bring the institution to highest level of perfection and patient care.

Dr. Suhail Anjum F.C.P.S., Assistant Professor is working since the establishment of the  college and is making valuable contribution towards teaching and patient care.  He is actively involved in the student teaching and running of the department  

The Department is very well equipped now and regular  major surgical lists being carried  out and wards have admitted patients and bedside teaching is being carried out. Major surgical procedures like  gastro intestinal,  pediatric,  urology  and  all types of  abdominal surgery  is  being  done.  Department  statistics are very promising  and  nearly three hundred operations have been done since January 2011.

New equipment in the operation theatre has been commissioned including operation tables , patient monitors  and anesthesia machines for best patient management and monitoring.
