Department of  Pathology

Prof. Dr. Aquila Bhutta joined the Department of Pathology soon after this College started functioning in Jan 2008. She established the Department, helped in equipping it and hiring the faculty. Before this she worked in Lahore University Of Medical and Dental Sciences as Prof. of Pathology and stayed there till July 2007

She retired from FJMC as Head Of Pathology Department and Deputy Dean in Oc1.2004. She served as Director Blood Transfusion Services Punjab, Prof. of Pathology from March 1994-June 1999 and helped improving blood transfusion services in the province.

She was Assistant Prof and later Associate Prof. Of Pathology at Nishtar Medical College from 1978-1991 and then was transferred to FJMC Lahore as Associate Prof Of Pathology from July 1991-March 1994. Dr. Aquila graduated from Dow Medical College Karachi in 1967with distinction in Pathology and EN1. She did house job in Pediatrics at JPMC Karachi and later worked as Research Officer in Diarrhea program Support by US AID

In 1969 she went to Scotland with her family and worked there in Royal Hospital for sick Children Edinburgh and on her return she joined KEMC as Demonstrator Pathology and later joined M.Phil Pathology course which she successfully completed as well as did MCPS in Pathology and joined N MC as Ass1. Prof, later was selected as Associated Prof, and later was transferred to FJMC Lahore as Associated Prof

The department has all the four sections as required by PM&DC and UHS and in addition to active teaching of 3^rdYear and 4^thYear MBBS classes the staff also does Clinical work of specimens sent from the attached Hospital.
