Continental Medical College
(Established 2006)

Continental Medical College Lahore was established in Oct-2006 in the premises of Ch. Rehmat Ali Memorial trust hospital, 2-Civic Centre, Township (Quaid-e-Azam Town) Lahore.

Ch. Rehmat Ali Memorial trust was formed by the Government of Punjab in 1976 with an objective of establishment of educational and welfare projects for the area, and the city. The 26 acres of land was allocated by Govt. of Punjab in 1982. The Trust established 60 bedded community hospital with basic facilities in 1985, and a girl’s high school, a boy’s high school, a girl’s degree college and a Mosque in 1992.

The Trust is run by the Board of Trustees for the Education and Hospital. In Oct. 2006, the Board of Trustees considered that the remaining land of almost 15 acres was lying without any use and should be utilized for purposeful projects which should be useful for community and the country. The Board decided that in view of massive population around, which is not well off, the hospital should be upgraded and as there is shortage of doctors, nurses and paramedics, Medical institutes, i.e. Medical College, Dental College and Nursing Institutes should be established. As the Board did not have the required financial resources, it signed an agreement with Al-Farid Associates to do the same.

According to the agreement Al-Farid Associate will establish Medical College in the 1st phase and Dental College and other related infrastructure in the 2nd and 3rd phase of project.

Al-Farid Associate has established the said Medical College (Continental Medical College Lahore) with all facilities i.e. class rooms, seminar rooms, labs, museums, library etc as per requirement of PM&DC for 100 medical students.
